Reasons Eco Lodge is the official eco-education and accommodation base of Reasons Education NZ.
Located near the Waikato River in Hamilton, the lodge combines comfortable stay facilities with hands-on learning about New Zealand’s environment.

Supported by local environmental experts and the city council, we host educational programs for schools, families, and international study groups — covering topics such as:

  • Native plants and wildlife identification

  • Gully ecosystem and water quality testing

  • Glowworm habitat observation

  • Pest control and conservation awareness

  • Outdoor teamwork and shelter building activities

营地位于汉密尔顿怀卡托河畔，依托独特的木屋建筑与沟谷生态环境，

The Lodge

Nestled near the Waikato River in Hamilton’s Chartwell area, the Reasons New Zealand Study Lodge is a boutique education and cultural retreat operated by Reasons Education NZ.

理新新西兰研学木屋坐落于汉密尔顿查特威尔（Chartwell）地区，毗邻怀卡托河，由 Reasons Education NZ 精心运营，是一处融合教育与文化体验的精品营地。

Accomodation

The A-frame wooden lodge features five bedrooms and a spacious outdoor learning deck surrounded by native gully vegetation. It welcomes school groups, university teams, family retreats, and short-term international students.

这座独特的 A 型木屋设有五间卧室和一个宽敞的户外学习平台，周围环绕着新西兰本土的沟谷植被。这里欢迎学校团体、大学团队、家庭度假者以及短期国际留学生入住。

Study camp

Located beside the Waikato River in Hamilton, the Reasons Eco Lodge offers hands-on environmental and nature-science programs. Under the guidance of New Zealand environmental experts and the local council, students, families, and international study groups learn to observe, analyse, and protect New Zealand’s ecosystems.


理新生态营地位于新西兰汉密尔顿怀卡托河畔，在本地环保专家与市政部门的指导下，面向新西兰学校、社区及国际研学团体，开展一系列自然科学与环境保护主题课程。学生在实地学习中观察、思考并守护新西兰独特的生态环境。

🌿 Core Programs｜核心课程

1️⃣ Native Flora & Fauna Identification and Protection

Learn to recognize common native plants and birds, understand the gully ecosystem, and explore biodiversity protection.
识别本地常见植物与鸟类，了解沟谷生态系统及生物多样性保护的重要性。

2️⃣ Gully Water Quality Testing

 Collect stream samples, test pH, turbidity, and oxygen levels, and discover how vegetation and rainfall affect water health.
采集溪流水样，检测酸碱度、浊度及含氧量，了解植被与降雨如何影响水体健康。

3️⃣ Glowworm Habitat Observation (Night Eco Walk)

 Join a guided night walk to observe New Zealand’s unique glowworms and learn about nocturnal ecosystems and light-pollution impacts.
参与夜间生态步行，观测新西兰独特的萤火虫生态，了解夜行生物系统及光污染影响。

4️⃣ Pest Control and Conservation Awareness

Discover how invasive species such as possums affect native wildlife; observe humane pest-control methods used in NZ conservation.
认识负鼠等外来物种对本地生态的威胁，了解新西兰常用的友善防治与自然保护方式。

5️⃣ Outdoor Shelter Building & Team Challenge

Work in teams to build simple outdoor shelters using natural or recycled materials—develop teamwork and creativity.
小组协作，用自然或可回收材料搭建户外棚屋，培养合作精神与创造力。

6️⃣ Eco Art Workshop – Leaf Printing on Fabric Bags

Collect leaves, soak them in alum water for 30 minutes, then print patterns on eco cotton bags. Learn leaf anatomy and sustainable art.
采集落叶，在明矾水中浸泡30分钟后拓印于环保棉布袋上，结合艺术创作学习叶脉结构与可持续理念。

7️⃣ Native Tree Planting & Restoration Day

Plant native trees such as manuka and kowhai alongside local experts; learn about soil, carbon storage, and habitat recovery.
与环保人士共同种植马努卡、考怀等本土树种，了解土壤健康、碳储存及生态恢复的重要性。
